What Is A CSCS Card — And Which One Do You Need?

Employers increasingly require a CSCS card on site as proof that health and safety procedures are understood. Here's how the card colours work and how we can help you get there.

Why A CSCS Card Matters

Employers are mandating the possession of CSCS (Construction Skills Certification Scheme) cards on their premises more frequently now. This gives them, and their clients, confidence that health and safety procedures are understood and followed on site.

Our Support Process

Application Form

Complete the construction card application form and submit it to us, along with your contact details, qualifications and construction experience.

CITB Test

Once received, you'll be guided to complete the CITB Health, Safety and Environment Test — an online multiple-choice exam covering workplace safety.

NVQ / Qualification

Depending on your target card colour, you'll complete the relevant NVQ route for your trade and experience level.

Official CSCS Application

After passing your test and meeting the qualification requirement, your application is submitted through the official CSCS scheme, and your card is issued directly by CSCS.

Important: Your construction card must be renewed every five years to stay valid. We're not affiliated with CSCS — this guidance reflects the general CSCS process at the time of writing; always confirm current requirements directly with CSCS.
