A one-day introduction to workplace health and safety, suited to operatives who want a solid grounding before stepping into more senior courses.

SSSTS

Site Supervisors' Safety Training Scheme

For supervisors managing day-to-day site safety. Covers legal responsibilities, risk assessment, and accident prevention at supervisor level.

SMSTS

Site Management Safety Training Scheme

The management-level equivalent of SSSTS — for site managers responsible for setting and enforcing safety standards across a whole project.

Level 1 Award

Level 1 Award In Health & Safety

An entry-level qualification suited to those newer to construction, often used as a stepping stone towards a Green CSCS card.

Which Course Do You Need?

SSSTS and SMSTS are often confused — the real-world distinction comes down to your role on site:

SSSTS suits supervisors overseeing a team's day-to-day safety compliance
SMSTS suits managers setting safety policy and standards across a site or project
Both have refresher versions to keep your certification current without retaking the full course
